Turlough O'Sullivan – Managing Director

Turlough served as Director General of IBEC from 2000-2009. He was a member of the Executive Board of Business Europe, the Council of the International Organisation of Employers, a member of the National Implementation Body, the National Economic and Social Council and a board member of the Labour Relations Commission.

 

Turlough is a company director and chairman and provides consultancy services in business strategy and organisation. He is involved in high level mediation and dispute resolution in public and private sector organisations. Turlough was educated at University College Dublin and The London School of Economics.

Miriam Maher – Director of Operations

Miriam directs the operations for Resolve Ireland. She was Head of HR for a multinational bank, located in the IFSC from 1997 to 2008. Since then, her independent third-party practitioner work has included Mediations, Investigations, Grievance Reviews, Appeal Hearings, and bespoke assignments on a wide range of workplace issues.

 

Miriam also delivers training workshops, online and in person, on areas such as Dignity @ Work, early resolution approaches and formal investigation procedures. She has a BA in Psychology from UCD and a MA in Counselling Psychology from UCC. Miriam is accredited by MII as a mediator, and a member of the CIPD.

Candidate Profile: 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate skills, experience, and knowledge of the following areas: 

  • HR/ER best practices and procedures

  • Relevant areas of Employment law

  • Good working knowledge of compensation and benefits practices

  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills

  • Excellent writing and communication skills

  • Understanding of the core principles of GDPR and application of same

  • Familiar with working in unionised and non-unionised work environments

  • Experience of delivering training programmes would be an advantage

  • Third level qualification in either law or HR will be an essential requirement

But apart from all that, we’re looking for someone with a keen interest in seeking creative, innovative and pragmatic solutions to workplace issues and working relationship challenges.  

The ideal person for this role will be a self-starter, organised by nature and interested in being part of a growing and dynamic organisation. 

This part time role (~20 hours a week) is flexible in nature and can be delivered remotely and on-site in line with the requirements of the client assignments.

Ciara D’Arcy – Panel Member

Ciara is a highly experienced HR Director and executive coach, with over 20 years operating at executive level, in local and global roles across the tech, pharma and professional services sectors. 

Prior to setting up her own consultancy, Ciara was most recently HR Director for Accenture Ireland. She was responsible for all aspects of the HR function. Under her leadership, a talent strategy was designed and implemented, ensuring the people agenda was aligned with current and future business goals.

Before that, Ciara spent 10 years working with Google, operating across all streams of the business. 

Ciara had extensive expertise in employee relations and employment legislation and undertakes a range of investigative cases for Resolve Ireland.

Joe Culbert – Panel Member

Joe is a very experienced Senior Employee Relations Professional with a successful track record of managing employee relations and change in complex, multi-union environments in both the public and private sectors. He has a strong reputation for supporting leadership teams in managing IR/ER risks, managing ER / third party cases, generating ER solutions and promoting positive ER environments.

He has developed ER strategies and tactical solutions to support business and organisational change. He supports leadership and teams in managing change, optimising business performance while fostering a positive employee relations culture. He brings his extensive experience in managing complex Employee Relations cases and investigations to bear on the wide range of cases he undertakes for Resolve Ireland.
